# Writing Preferences: Maple Workshop

Reusable preferences for public announcements and similar attendee-facing copy.

## Facts

- Use only `workshop-facts.txt` for event facts. Make no promises beyond it.
- Style examples are tone references only. Don't reuse their wording or their claims.
- Put missing details (such as address, parking or booking link) in a separate **editorial note** outside the public copy. Never put a gap or placeholder in the public text.

## Voice

- Warm and practical. No hype, no exclamation marks, no superlatives.
- Speak directly to the reader ("you").
- Use contractions naturally (you'll, it's, don't, there's).
- Short, plain sentences. Prefer concrete actions over adjectives.

## Structure

- **Open with the practical experience** (what attendees will actually do), not a catalog-style description.
- **Keep schedule detail light in announcements:** the overall time and the supervised-practice length are enough. The full minute-by-minute schedule belongs in the welcome document.
- **Always include the equipment and shoes instruction.**
- **Group the logistics together:** date, time, location and price in one place.

## Length and process

- Don't force an exact word count. Aim for about 100 words and let the content decide.
- Show the draft in the conversation before saving.
